Goodness Brewing, NOMOQ, and London Craft Beer Festival together for an Artist Created Can

Cans are art pieces with Goodness Brewing and the London Craft Beer Festival. Tangled is a delicious 4.5% grapefruit & pineapple radler packed into masterpieces by Matt Martin and Benny Payne.

We always considered our technology as the real enabler of customers’ creativity: You are the Artist we like to say at NOMOQ.

That’s why, when the opportunity came, with a project backed up by The Goodness Brewing and London Craft Beer Festival, we had no doubts about making things happen.

The Goodness Brewing provided the creative engine, LCBF the platform, and NOMOQ the technology and expertise.

The project is easy to explain: two great artists will put their art on NOMOQ’s cans containing an awesome brew by Goodness that will be the official drink of the London Craft Beer Festival.

The Artists

Artist Matt Martin designed one edition of the can with the Goodness Brewery team using an anaglyph technique, which is a 3D effect achieved by encoding each eye's image using filters of different colours, typically red and cyan when a user wears special 3D glasses. A truly unique artistry experience going above and beyond just ‘packaging’.

The second artist, Benny Payne created the second edition and represented what is inside the can in a flavourful fresh innovative beer. Benny's signature fruit and bird motifs splashed across a gleaming mirrored surface encapsulated the beer’s flavour as described to him by The Goodness head brewer Josh Billington.

These two pieces of art will see their launch during an exclusive launch party taking place on Wednesday, July 31st, at Mother Kelly's in Bethnal Green, London.

The Launch

This launch event is not just a celebration of innovative brewing and artistry but also a unique opportunity to recognise and support the talented artists who have been integral to this project. Unlike traditional collaborations, the artists have been deeply involved in every step of the creative journey, from conception to final product, ensuring a truly immersive and collaborative experience.

During the event, people will also be able to talk directly with the artists, buy some of their pieces and just be part of one of their next creations.

The partners’ angle

At NOMOQ we are happy to service our cutting-edge technology to empower such a creative project that crosses the borders with the world of art. Speaking about the designs, Konstantin Schwarzkopf, Head of Design, commented: "Our mission is to empower brands and breweries to explore the full potential of NOMOQ’s technology. Always for NOMOQ brands are the artists, transforming the craft beer world into a more colourful and dynamic space.

“We offer more than just an alternative to labels; we provide a blank canvas for extraordinary brand opportunities. We work closely with the artists to incorporate nearly all of our technological elements, including 3D and textured designs.”

Head of Brand at Goodness Brewery, Elaine Robertson, adds: “This event will be the first time anyone sees the can designs and we are really excited to reveal them. Unlike the traditional model of commissioning an artist then taking them out of the product design stage, we wanted our artists involved and contributing at all stages, ensuring the final product is a true representation of their work.

“NOMOQ worked alongside the artists and the creative team at The Goodness to take original art from 2D to 3D, keeping the texture and integrity of the mediums the work was created with. NOMOQ's printed process pushes these cans beyond just function into a truly unique object to be kept and treasured long after the beer has been enjoyed.”

The London Craft Beer Festival is proud to support this collaboration, emphasising the creative synergy between brewing and art. The event at Mother Kelly's promises to be an unforgettable evening filled with great beer, exceptional art, and a celebration of creativity and community.

Greg Wells, Co-Founder of We Are Beer, said: “We are proud of this partnership and celebratory launch as we gear up for London Craft Beer Festival on 09 - 10 August. Join us for an evening of innovation, creativity, and community spirit. Celebrate with us as we showcase the incredible talents of the artists and the limitless possibilities of NOMOQ’s technology.

We are all super excited to see the birth of this sparkling and colourful project, and can’t wait for you to see our new cans directly at the launch event. So, be quick and see you on Wednesday, July 31st.
